Thinking about changing my oppo handle to “future cop”
Its so cool. I wouldn’t go so far as to say “useless” but it is definetly somewhat impractical. It is ridiculously accurate for a handgun but keeping a steady aim unsupported is a challenge.

I’m no expert, but that setup (and gun) seems like it would be bad for nearly every use other than having fun at the range. Not that there is anything wrong with that at all.

Thats a .44 mag right? For a revolver that packs a good punch I found them to be pretty manageable though on the edge of being reasonable to use . The .500 while cool is definitely 100% impractical. I just ordered a Ruger American Ranch in 5.56. It will be a fun plinking gun for longer ranges.

Have fun! I think 5.56 is great mostly based on cost alone. Adds up quick.
It is a .44. I would say the recoil is fine, but this is a full size gun with a compensated barrel and cushy grips. It is definetly as big as I would go. I would also hesitate to reccomend a snubby or similar. I love shooting it though.

Its intended use is either handgun hunting (which I want to do) or as bear repellant, which is less useful considering all we get are black bears. It is an amazing range toy. I also want to take it to my local nra cowboy silhouette match.

I’d be interested in a review of that Holosun RDS after a couple hundred full house .44 Magnum loads through the gun. Holosun was a cheapo brand with cheapo product not that long ago, but seem to have really stepped up theier game. I’m a Vortex Optics man, run them on everything I have with an optic, but am looking to outfit my son’s stuff and have been looking at Holosun...

Most of my youtube reviewer sources love em. The version I have with the acss reticle seems extremely slick and compared to open sights, made me more accurate. I think the acss is unnecessary but I bought it to swap on my ak later. As it is it is unobtrusive. It survived at least 50 rounds lol.

My buddy runs a Primary Arms LVPO, maybe a 1x6, with that ACSS reticle and it’s badass. I ran a Gen 1 Vortex SPARC on an AK for well over 10,000 rounds and it help up great. I really do believe that Aimpoints and ACOGs are awesome, but I can’t justify that kind of money, I’d rather spend the difference on ammo and practice!

Yeah it really needs a rifle and/or a magnifier to make sense. O n the magnum it seems a touch silly but I havent tried it at long range yet, maybe it might help.
